CREATING HEALTHY COMMUNITIES

As part of the Creating Healthy Communities (CHC) grant program, the Erie County Health Department’s CHC Coordinator works with the Creating Healthy Communities Coalition to plan, develop, and implement sustainable healthy eating and active living programs across Erie County. It is our mission to activate community-led solutions to create policy, systems, and environmental changes.

In 2023, the Coalition has been a key community member; implementing a monthly pop-up food pantry at the Erie County JfS, assisting with local park renovations and the drafting of a School Travel Plan for the Sandusky City Schools.
