Kaptur Recovery Services Celebrates Residential Recovery Milestones
Sandusky, OH – March 26, 2026 – Since opening in November 2025, Kaptur Recovery Services (KRS) Residential Recovery Program has successfully graduated 16 patients. The program provides a 28-day residential stay designed to support individuals recovering from substance use disorders with structured counseling, community integration, and comprehensive support services.
During the program, patients participate in 30 hours of counseling each week, with additional weekend sessions. Intensive Outpatient counseling occurs three times weekly and incorporates partnerships with local organizations such as Sandusky Artisans and Taking Back Ohio. These collaborations provide patients with practical skills, community connections, and guidance on accessing continued support after graduation.
“Our goal is to equip patients with the tools, knowledge, and community connections they need to sustain recovery,” said Stephanie Salyer, RN, Chief of Behavioral Health at ECHD. “By combining clinical care with local resources and support networks, we help patients transition safely back into daily life with confidence and resilience.”
In addition, patients are connected with health, dental, and mental health services through the Erie County Community Health Center and are supported by Community Health Workers to ease the transition from residential care back to the community.
Kaptur Recovery Services provides evidence-based, compassionate care for individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorders. Services include medically monitored detox, residential treatment, Intensive Outpatient Programs, and MAT. KRS is part of the Erie County Health Department and works in partnership with local organizations to support recovery and wellness in the community.
