Tattooing & Body Art Image of tattooed arms.

Enforcing strict safety standards for body modifications.

Tattooing, body piercing, and cosmetic tattooing (microblading) carry inherent health risks if sanitization protocols are ignored. Our department administers the local body art licensing program, performing routine, comprehensive inspections of all local studios. We verify that artists use sterile, single-use equipment, maintain proper infection control barriers, and strictly adhere to Ohio’s tattoo shop sanitary regulations to prevent the transmission of bloodborne pathogens like Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV.
