As the weather warms up in Erie County, families are starting to think about summer fun. At the Sandusky Aquatic Center, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to feel confident and safe in the water.
That’s why the Erie County Health Department and Erie County Community Health Center are thrilled to announce that registration is now open for our upcoming youth swim lessons for May and June!
Why Enroll Your Child in Swim Lessons?
Living in a lakefront community like Sandusky means water is a big part of our lives. Learning to swim is more than just a fun summer hobby—it is a vital life skill. Our programs focus on three core pillars:
- Water Safety: Teaching children how to respect the water, recognize hazards, and react in emergencies.
- Physical Health: Swimming is one of the best full-body workouts for growing kids, improving cardiovascular health and coordination.
- Confidence Building: Overcoming a fear of water or mastering a new stroke boosts a child’s self-esteem in and out of the pool.
Upcoming Course Offerings at the S.A.C.
We are offering two distinct levels of instruction to meet your family’s needs:
- Parent & Tot Lessons (Held in May & June): Designed for our youngest swimmers and their caregivers. These sessions focus on water acclimation, bubble blowing, and bonding. It’s a great way to introduce your toddler to the pool in a gentle, fun-filled environment.
- Beginner Child Lessons (Held in June): Perfect for school-aged children ready to learn the fundamentals. Our certified instructors guide students through basic strokes, floating, and proper breathing techniques to build a strong swimming foundation.
Affordable Swim Lessons for Erie County Families
The Erie County Health Department is committed to making wellness accessible. Each course is priced at just $25 per session, ensuring that high-quality, professional instruction is available to all families in our community.
All classes are held at our state-of-the-art facility located inside Sandusky High School.
