The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have identified ten essential public health services that are considered to be activities that all public health agencies must undertake in order to fully serve and support their community’s needs. Of the ten, the first is to monitor health status in order to identify and solve community health problems. A community health assessment process does just that.
Over the years, the Erie County Health Department has led that process on behalf of the community. The information collected by anonymous survey allows us to track changes, both good and bad, in the overall health and wellness of Erie County residents.
