Bed bugs are small insects that feed on the blood of humans and animals. You may find them in areas where people rest or sleep. A bed bug’s bite can cause itching, irritation, or allergic reactions. Despite their inconvenience, bed bugs are not known to spread disease.

A: Individuals staying at a hotel or motel should contact the facility operator for complaints of bed bugs. They may also notify the State Fire Marshal in one of the following ways:
