CREATING HEALTHY COMMUNITIES – HANCOCK STREET GARDEN

The Hancock Street Garden is a 10-bed community garden located at 914 Hancock Street in Sandusky, Ohio. In partnership with the OSU Extension Master Gardener Program, CHC assists with garden maintenance, programming, and advertisement.

As of 2022, volunteers from the Center for Cultural Awareness visit twice a month to assist with daily garden activities including weeding, watering, and harvesting. Additionally, CHC has partnered with the Erie County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Erie CORE to form the “Erie County Grow Getters” club, who participate in garden-based educational activities twice a month.
