Improving the well-being of mothers, infants, and children is an important public health goal. Healthy Sprouts is a community effort to eliminate health disparities, improve birth outcomes, and improve the health of women, infants, and children in Erie County.
It is the mission of the Healthy Sprouts Coalition to decrease infant mortality by improving the accessibility and quality of health services for women, infants, and children in Erie County.
The Healthy Sprouts Coalition is a group of community organizations working together to improve the health of our children. Through collaboration to provide education to new and expectant mothers and families, improved access to healthcare, and needed infant and child supplies. Previous members of the Healthy Sprouts Coalition have included Erie County Health Department/Erie County Community Health Center, La Leche League, Firelands School of Nursing, Erie County CASA, The Road to Hope, Firelands Lactation Services/FABA, The LCADA Way, and Firelands Counseling and Recovery Services.
